The Regent of Oba community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Prince Noel Ezenwa, and the traditional ruler of Obosi community in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, Igwe Chidubem Iweka III, have hailed the Federal Government over the Second Niger Bridge.

Both monarchs commended the Federal Government for deeming it necessary to construct the project in the interest of Nigerians. The Second Niger Bridge passed through both communities.

Hoodlums have allegedly stabbed a man, Peter Nnamdi, to death, after invading a shanty in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro gathered that normal activities were ongoing when the hoodlums invaded the area around 9.05pm on Tuesday.

The gang was said to have attempted to dispose Nnamdi of his mobile phone before stabbing him in the neck and ribs.

Gbenga Raheem, the husband of a female lawyer, Omobolanle, who was shot dead by an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Drambi Vandi, has narrated how his wife was killed.

Gbenga spoke on Monday when sympathisers visited his house in the Ajah area of Lagos State.









A Delta State-based woman identified simply as Madam Success has been reportedly arrested and remanded in Anambra State for her alleged role in luring four university female students into prostitution in her state.

Madam Success was on Friday arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Magistrate Court in Awka, where she was denied bail and also remanded.

The Executive Director of the Centre for Human Resource Development and Empowerment Initiative Kaduna, Dr Mohammed Ali, has said the North does not need an almajiri commission, but a total ban on the almajiri practice.

The governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has sanctioned his party, the All Progressives Congress, to pay a fine of N5 million for contravening the provisions of the state’s Executive Order 3 of 2022.

The Executive Order 3 of the state prohibits political parties from using public places such as schools, parks, and markets for political activities without obtaining due clearance from the government.

A group of gunmen have abducted four students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, and the driver of their vehicle, along Akunnu-Ajowa Road in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State on Friday.

Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 26-year-old man, Adeyemi Babatunde, for allegedly killing a 46-year-old driver, Obafunsho Ismail, over a minor argument.
