According to Mikel Obi, “ENTITLEMENT SYNDROME EVERYWHERE.”

Former Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has expressed his opinions about how African families take advantage of their successful members.

You are threatened by your own blood, your own, according to John Mikel Obi. When you make money in Africa, it is not your money—this is something I do not think we talk about very much.

You have numerous cousins, relatives, or whatever term you choose to use. Yeah. You know, and your sisters leave me to marry a man who is merely interested in marrying into John Obi Mikel’s family since my life is taken care of. After that, you begin to take care of this guy.

It does not take long for you to start observing them. They just keep having more and more children, and you think to yourself, “Well, now that you are having this many kids, who is going to take care of them?” It is you.

You owe that to them. Therefore, there are times when you have to have the strength to tell the guys, “You know what, enough is enough, I do not care.” They threaten to call the media if you do not comply. Oh my god. After all I have done for you guys. However, this occurs frequently.

Let me tell you something: in Africa, people are reluctant to talk about it because we do not know how to start the conversation.
