Why I don’t consider my failed marriages as failure – Funke Akindele
Funke Akindele, a Nollywood producer, has opened up about her failures and the reasons behind her decision not to label her failed marriages as failures.
Akindele stated in a Wazobia FM interview in Lagos that her mother instilled in her the belief that success is impossible without failure at a young age.
She emphasizes the value of her work and mental health while saying she simply takes marriage “as it comes.”
The actress continued by saying that she wants to inspire the next generation, lead a meaningful life, and support her siblings and children.
“If you ask me now, can you tell me one failure? I do not see it as a failure,” she remarked. My personal life—my marriage—I just go with the flow. I put a lot of importance on my mental health. My career matters a lot, sweetheart.
“I must have an influence. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to motivate the youth in our community. I have to continue being strong for my siblings and kids. For what reason am I alive? My mind is focused because I have a goal.
According to Funke Akindele, “Yes, I cry and I break down, but after I cry, I just look in the mirror and say, ‘keep moving.'”
