Eight suspected criminal has been paraded by Nigerian Military with Recovered Weapons

The Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven paraded eight criminal suspects at the  Headquarters OPSH in Jos on Friday.

The suspects are allegedly linked to crimes, including the murder of one Dorathy Jonathan, gun manufacturing, gunrunning, attack and burning of Saint Raphael Catholic Church, and the killing of a herder in Kaduna State. 

This was disclosed in a statement on the official X handle of the Nigerian Army.

A wanted gunrunner, Napoleon John, was also arrested and further led troops to a concealed factory where arms of different caliber were sold by another miscreant, Monday Dunia, who confessed to having been in the business for more than five years fueling the crisis in Kaduna and Plateau States.

It was gathered that two other suspects were arrested for their involvement in the killing of a herder following a reprisal attack by locals over the killing of a farmer in Gora town. 

These two suspects, Hassan Mato and Ahmad Khalifa, were also arrested for attacking and burning Saint Raphael Catholic Church in Kaduna State, and killing a seminarian, Naaman Ngophe. 

The statement further read, “A total of 31 different caliber of weapons were recovered from the suspects including three AK 47 Riffles, five fabricated AK 47 Riffles, one pump action rifle and 10 locally fabricated pistols, eight fabricated revolvers rifle and three locally fabricated sub machine guns.”

Woman K1lls  Her 65-Year-old Husband With Pestle

A mother of three, Mrs Tayelolu Solomon, has allegedly k1lled her 65-year-old husband, Felix Solomon, with a pestle in Ondo State.

It was gathered that the couple had been having a lingering crisis and the woman had threatened to k1ll him. 

According to the son of the deceased, Ibukun Solomon who witnessed the incident, he said “My mother killed my father with a pestle in my presence and took to her heels. She used the pestle to h1t his head when he was asleep, He became unconscious in the process and fell down from where he was sleeping. My mother used the pestle to h1t my father’s he*d three times and he later d*ed. When my mother saw that my father was already unconscious, she hid the pestle at the back of our house and ran away

“I called out to our neighbors who rushed my father to the hospital. But he later died. His corpse has been deposited at the morgue. My mother had three children for my father and I’m the last child.”

It was learnt that the deceased was on the floor of the house when the people of the community arrived at the scene. And they called the police for help. It was further gathered that the deceased had planned to report the woman to her family before she sent him to his grave.

A member of the deceased’s family said they were making efforts to settle the incessant fight between the couple before tragedy struck.

The source revealed that was not the first time such face-off would occur between the couple and the family would settle it amicably.

“The woman had been threatening to k1ll her husband whenever they were fighting. And the deceased informed us about the threats. But we never knew she would carry out the act. But this time, she took laws into her own hands and k1lled our brother for nothing. She must be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

Nigeria police force hit another miles stone as they arrest Robbery Syndicate, Recover 890 Phones

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a robbery syndicate, recovering 890 phones and other items from them.

The command made this known in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on its Facebook page.

“On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc detailed a team of detectives and directed them to conduct a thorough investigation.

“During the investigation, the said Mujjitafa Sale was arrested and instantly confessed to having Conspired with one Ahmed Abbati, 23 years old of Dukawuya Quarters, Kano and jointly committed the offence.

“Further investigation led to the arrest of the following Persons who helped him to hide the Stolen Mobile Phones including other accessories: They are: (1) Musa Muhammad Shafi’u, ‘m’ 25 years old, (2) Nusairu Nasiru, ‘m’ 22 years old, and (3) Usman Muhammad, ‘m’ 25 years old, all of Dukawuya Quarters, Kano.

“Consequent upon in-depth investigation, a total of Eight Hundred and Ninety (890) Mobile Phones were recovered from them. The suspects will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.”

A little girl of 12 years left everyone confused as she confesses to putting sniper in her foster mother’s food.

The girl named Precious Okome, from Nchara Oloko in Ikwuano, Abia State, explained that she found the insecticide in their toilet and put some drops into her foster mother, Mrs Stella Iheanacho’s food flask containing her lunch.

In a video seen by MAGIC FM, the JSS1 student of Ibeku High School was asked why she did it, and she said a man named Ijele, who talks to her in her sleep, told her to poison the woman.

 Bus Driver Arrested For St*bbing LASTMA Officer In Lagos

It was gathered that Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority have arrested a commercial bus driver for st.bbing a LASTMA officer after being apprehended for serious traffic obstruction around Costain in Lagos on Sunday.

The driver, whose name was not disclosed, was apprehended for picking passengers on the main expressway thereby causing serious traffic obstructions to other road users around Costain inward Iponrin in Lagos.

The driver was reported to have made “dangerous driving attempts to escape before he brought out knife and st*bbed” the officer.

“After seeing the deep c.t he had inflicted with the knife, he decided to stripped himself naked and caused serious commotions before he was eventually arrested by Police men from Iponri Police Station,” the statement added.

After his arrest, dangerous weapons – cutlass and knife – were recovered inside his commercial Volkswagen ‘T4’ bus by security officers.

The government had confirmed that the arrested driver would be immediately prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to other recalcitrant drivers.

The Niger State Police Command has apprehended five suspects allegedly involved in the possession of a human skull for a money ritual along the Minna-Bida road in the state.

Initially, it was reported that two of the suspects, Isah Mohammed (26 years old) and Idris Mohammed (28 years old), both from Sakpe village in Edati Local Government Area, were caught with the skull wrapped in a bag by a sister security agency during a routine patrol.

The two suspects were later handed over to the state Police Area Command in Bida for further investigation. During this process, they revealed the names of three others who assisted them in exhuming a corpse and removing the head.

Confirming the incident in Minna, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that the suspects were intercepted in a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle by a sister security agency at the toll gate along Bida-Minna while searching the passengers on September 11, 2023, in the afternoon.

According to him, “During police interrogation, the suspects claimed that they obtained the human skull from their village and were aided by three other individuals to the grave where the skull was exhumed.”

A human rights advocacy group, Save the Poor and Needy Charity Initiative (SPANCI), has enjoined the Federal Government and security agencies to confiscate properties and freeze bank accounts belonging to Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and Samson Erinfolabi Balogun, popularly known as Sam Larry, over allegations of being behind the death of Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

President Bola Tinubu has encouraged Nigerians in the U.S. to rise above failure by having a change of mindset for success in all their endeavours in life.

Troops of Operation Safe Heaven, OPSH, have uncovered a gun manufacturing factory in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a statement posted on Friday via its verified X handle, the Nigerian Army confirmed that the operation followed the resolve of the OPSH commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, to deal decisively with sponsors and perpetrators of crime.

The operation, which took place from Thursday night until Friday morning, led to the recovery of several dangerous weapons.

According to the statement, the discovery followed a week-long intelligence operation that led to the capture of a wanted gunrunner Napoleon John.

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu State, on Thursday, upheld the election of Governor Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Reports has it that Mbah’s election was challenged by Barr Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party, LP.

Major grounds of Edeoga’s petition centred on Mbah’s alleged forgery of National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, certificate, irregularities during the election, over-voting, among others.
