The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counsels the unsettled Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to know that rushing to Abuja in the face of the defeat of his party, the APC in the Osun State Governorship election cannot overturn the Will of the people at the poll.

Our Party is already aware that APC leaders are rushing to Abuja in a desperate move to manipulate the process and frustrate the smooth conclusion of the election, having realized that the APC has been rejected by the people.

Asiwaju Tinubu must know that the people of Osun State have spoken and that his running to Abuja cannot save the deflated Governor Gboyega Oyetola from the reverberating verdict of the ballot box.

Our Party charges the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the APC leadership in Abuja to note that the course of the election is already known to all and that the people of Osun State will never accept any outcome to the contrary.

The PDP charges INEC to resist the manipulations and pressure from the APC by sticking to its assurance to the people that the election will be transparent and conclusive at the first ballot.

The PDP congratulates the people of Osun State and urges them to remain at alert, protect their votes and ensure that the results declared at the polling centers are not altered but duly reflected at the collation and final declaration.

We also congratulate all democratic institutions, stakeholders and all patriots who stood by the people to achieve this great shift.

Except the Zamfara State Government steps in to stop it, all is set for the coronation of a notorious terror kingpin, Ada Aleru, as the Sarkin Fulani (the chief of the Fulani) of the Yandoton Daji Emirate on Saturday.

Sources in the district, who asked not to be named for safety reasons, told PREMIUM TIMES that the decision to make the terrorist a chief was aimed at finding lasting peace in the crisis-ravaged Tsafe and Yandoton Daji emirates and other areas of Zamfara and Katsina states, which are regularly attacked by Mr Aleru and his subordinates.

Yandoton Daji is one of the two new emirates created by the Zamfara government in May. It was carved out from the Tsafe emirate. The emir of Yandoton Daji is Aliyu Marafa .

The decision to make Mr Aleru a chief followed dialogue between elders of the emirate and the terror leader.

PREMIUM TIMES reported in March that during the dialogue, elders of the emirate appealed to Mr Aleru to stop attacking communities in the emirate.

“Aleru has gathered a lot of money and cattle and he knows if this (fight with soldiers) continues, he may end up losing the cattle and his wealth. As the leader of most of the bandits in Yankuzo and Munhaye axis, and to a large extent, Tsafe area, he felt it would be better to reach a truce,” one source, a resident of the area, said.

Another source, a civil servant from Tsafe town, said the decision to give Mr Aleru the title was to show appreciation for the relative peace in the areas.

“There was a meeting in Yandoto two weeks ago and those who were present saw the commitment of Ada Aleru to the peace accord. He did not beg for the title but the emirate believes if he is given the title, it would tie him down,” the source said Thursday.

Vice presidential candidate of the APC, Kashim Shettima, has said Peter Obi cannot become president of Nigeria, IGBERETV reports.

According to the former Borno state governor, Obi the Labour party candidate can only be president of Igboland and not Nigeria.

Speaking on Channels TV Politics Today programme on Friday, July 15, Shettima said;

“The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has no political base and structure to win the next coming election in 2023. As far as i am concerned he’s politically structureless with little or no experience to lead this country.”

“Nigeria requires a technocrat and a sound Administrator who will continue from where President Muhammadu Buhari stopped not someone who will come to take us back in the era of PDP. Nigerians don’t want that.

“Our Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the right person needed for this position in a time like this. He’s a unifier, an Administrator, a technocrat name it. That is why Nigerians both old and young are rallying round him to ensure that he wins the forth coming election.

“Presidential position is not for the unprepared neither is it an all comers affairs. Peter Obi can only become a President in Igboland but definitely not in Nigeria. Nigeria is too big for him to handle. He has no leadership ideology nor experiences like President Muhammadu and our incoming President in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Man jailed 3 months for biting off another man?s pinky finger

A 23-year-old man identified as Mohammed Abubakar, has been sentenced to three months imprisonment by an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun state for biting off the pinky finger of another man.

The state police command had charged Abubakar before the court for assault. He had pleaded not guilty.

Adeyemi held that the Prosecution Counsel had proven beyond reasonable doubts that he was guilty of the charge preferred against him.

Earlier, prosecution counsel, Insp E.O.Adaraloye told the court that the convict committed the offense on Feb. 7, at about 10.30 p.m., at Oja Ijoko,Ota. He said that the convict bit off the right pinky finger of the complainant, Adamu Abdullahi.

Ayodele Adewale, a loyalist of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 election has claimed that it is possible for Tinubu to make the naira equal to the US dollar.

Adewale, who is a local government chairman in Lagos State, made the claim when he appeared on Arise TV on Wednesday.

According to him, the APC presidential candidate has the political capital to improve the nation’s economy by securing foreign investments in the country.

He said, “I talked about bringing one dollar to a Naira, it is very possible. Asiwaju has the political capital to bring investors to this country.

“I will also say it again, during June 12, as soon as MKO Abiola was perceived to have been winning the election, a lot of investors started coming to the Nigerian system. The cost of commodities were going down. We are going to see a similar thing with Tinubu

“Asiwaju is an auditor and accountant, Mr Shettima is a banker, he knows how to raise and manage funds.”

Speaking on the Muslim-Muslim controversy, Adewale maintained that electability should not be hinged on religion, but on competence and antecedence in the 2023 election.

Tragedy struck in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, following the destruction of a section of the popular Eke Market, in Afikpo Town by a strange fire, on Tuesday evening.

While goods worth millions of naira including shops were destroyed by the fire, no life was reportedly lost.

An anaesthetist who allegedly raped a pregnant woman during a C-section may have carried out attacks on two more mothers on the same day.

Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, was arrested on suspicion of rape after he was allegedly secretly filmed orally raping a woman after he heavily sedated her at the Hospital da Mulher in São João de Meriti, Rio de Janeiro.
The woman’s husband was told to leave the room without being able to see his newborn baby, and only found out about what had happened to his wife when he recognised the doctor on television after his arrest.

‘I’ve never seen anything like it,’ said delegate Barbara Lomba, who is in charge of investigating the case.

The woman told family she thought she was having an hallucination at the time of the attack.

Mr Bezerra only completed his medical training in anaesthesia two months ago.

Hospital staff were reportedly worried about the amount of drugs he was giving to his patients so fitted a secret camera to see what he was up to.

They were horrified to see him sexually assaulting the woman as other doctors performed the C-section on her less than a yard away behind a surgical curtain.

He reportedly assaulted her for almost ten minutes.

But staff members who recorded the rape said the doctor had already carried out two similar procedures that day, with police investigating whether those two women were also victims of attack.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabimila, has recalled how Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, betrayed him in his earlier quest to be the Speaker. He said despite supporting Tambuwal to emerge Speaker of the House in 2011, the Sokoto governor abandoned him and lined behind Yakubu Dogara in 2015. Gbajabiamila disclosed this in a recent book – Mr Speaker: The Legislative Life, Service And Resilience of Femi Gbajabiamila – written by two of his aides, Dr Charles Omole and Musa Abdullahi Krishi. Narrating Gbajabiamila’s disappointment with Tambuwal’s decision to work against Gbajabiamila’s quest to be the speaker in 2015, the authors wrote: “One good turn, it’s often said, deserves another.

However, that seemed not to be the case between Tambuwal and Gbajabiamila when it was time for the Surulere 1 Federal Constituency lawmaker to have his own turn as a Speaker in 2015, following the victory of the APC at the polls. Tambuwal did not only oppose him, he also ensured that Yakubu Dogara defeated the man that first conceived the idea for him (Tambuwal) to be Speaker.

“Not only did Gbajabiamila work for Tambuwal’s emergence in 2011, he also stood by him through thick and thin throughout the four-year tenure. For example, when there were attempts by the then executive arm to remove Tambuwal, following his defection to the APC, Gbajabimila, along with like-minded, had to scale the National Assembly gate to access the House chamber in order to forestall the plot. “Coming to 2015, with all the sacrifices that Gbajabiamila made for Tambuwal, it was taken for granted that the (now) Sokoto State governor would support him to emerge Speaker. But the outgoing Speaker had another plan – to have Dogara succeed him.” Giving an insight into how Tambuwal stabbed him in the back, Gbajabiamila opened up: “When the time came for the speakership election, it was taken for granted.
