Nigeria police force hit another miles stone as they arrest Robbery Syndicate, Recover 890 Phones

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a robbery syndicate, recovering 890 phones and other items from them.

The command made this known in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on its Facebook page.

“On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc detailed a team of detectives and directed them to conduct a thorough investigation.

“During the investigation, the said Mujjitafa Sale was arrested and instantly confessed to having Conspired with one Ahmed Abbati, 23 years old of Dukawuya Quarters, Kano and jointly committed the offence.

“Further investigation led to the arrest of the following Persons who helped him to hide the Stolen Mobile Phones including other accessories: They are: (1) Musa Muhammad Shafi’u, ‘m’ 25 years old, (2) Nusairu Nasiru, ‘m’ 22 years old, and (3) Usman Muhammad, ‘m’ 25 years old, all of Dukawuya Quarters, Kano.

“Consequent upon in-depth investigation, a total of Eight Hundred and Ninety (890) Mobile Phones were recovered from them. The suspects will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.”

A little girl of 12 years left everyone confused as she confesses to putting sniper in her foster mother’s food.

The girl named Precious Okome, from Nchara Oloko in Ikwuano, Abia State, explained that she found the insecticide in their toilet and put some drops into her foster mother, Mrs Stella Iheanacho’s food flask containing her lunch.

 Bus Driver Arrested For St*bbing LASTMA Officer In Lagos

It was gathered that Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority have arrested a commercial bus driver for st.bbing a LASTMA officer after being apprehended for serious traffic obstruction around Costain in Lagos on Sunday.

The driver, whose name was not disclosed, was apprehended for picking passengers on the main expressway thereby causing serious traffic obstructions to other road users around Costain inward Iponrin in Lagos.

The driver was reported to have made “dangerous driving attempts to escape before he brought out knife and st*bbed” the officer.

“After seeing the deep c.t he had inflicted with the knife, he decided to stripped himself naked and caused serious commotions before he was eventually arrested by Police men from Iponri Police Station,” the statement added.

After his arrest, dangerous weapons – cutlass and knife – were recovered inside his commercial Volkswagen ‘T4’ bus by security officers.

The government had confirmed that the arrested driver would be immediately prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to other recalcitrant drivers.

The Niger State Police Command has apprehended five suspects allegedly involved in the possession of a human skull for a money ritual along the Minna-Bida road in the state.

Initially, it was reported that two of the suspects, Isah Mohammed (26 years old) and Idris Mohammed (28 years old), both from Sakpe village in Edati Local Government Area, were caught with the skull wrapped in a bag by a sister security agency during a routine patrol.

The two suspects were later handed over to the state Police Area Command in Bida for further investigation. During this process, they revealed the names of three others who assisted them in exhuming a corpse and removing the head.

Confirming the incident in Minna, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that the suspects were intercepted in a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle by a sister security agency at the toll gate along Bida-Minna while searching the passengers on September 11, 2023, in the afternoon.

According to him, “During police interrogation, the suspects claimed that they obtained the human skull from their village and were aided by three other individuals to the grave where the skull was exhumed.”

Troops of Operation Safe Heaven, OPSH, have uncovered a gun manufacturing factory in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a statement posted on Friday via its verified X handle, the Nigerian Army confirmed that the operation followed the resolve of the OPSH commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, to deal decisively with sponsors and perpetrators of crime.

The operation, which took place from Thursday night until Friday morning, led to the recovery of several dangerous weapons.

According to the statement, the discovery followed a week-long intelligence operation that led to the capture of a wanted gunrunner Napoleon John.

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu State, on Thursday, upheld the election of Governor Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Reports has it that Mbah’s election was challenged by Barr Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party, LP.

Major grounds of Edeoga’s petition centred on Mbah’s alleged forgery of National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, certificate, irregularities during the election, over-voting, among others.

The Nigeria Police Force have dismissed a police officer who shot dead Alafuro Peterside, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Peterside, 42, was shot dead last month by a police officer in the presence of his wife and children at a beer parlour in Elekohia, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, revealed the development while parading criminal suspects at the command’s headquarters at Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday.

CP Emeka added that the officer has been arraigned in court for the sake of justice

The International Organisation for Migration, in collaboration with the Federal Government, repatriated 155 Nigerian irregular migrants stranded across various parts of Libya.

This is contained in a statement issued by the IOM on Wednesday in Lagos.

The returnees arrived at the Cargo Wing of Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, late Tuesday evening on board an Al Buraq Air Boeing 737-800 with registration number 5A-DMG,
It added that of 155 returnees that arrived, 125 were females, 22 males and eight infants.

IOM said that officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, Port Health Service, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria were at the airport to receive the returnees
