The audio captures Mr. Ibu’s voice conversing, most likely with Jasmine, while they are driving.

The second son of actor John Okafor, also referred to as Mr. Ibu, Daniel Okafor, has refuted allegations made by his wife Stella Okafor that her adopted daughter Jasmine had accessed Mr. Ibu’s bank account. 

Stella accused Jasmine of taking over the bank account from which well-meaning Nigerians had been donating money for the ailing actor on her Instagram page on Sunday.

I do not have access to the main Access bank account where donations are made, according to a portion of her post. Jazmine is secretly in charge of it, but in order to maintain complete control over that account, she is fabricating all kinds of falsehoods and propaganda about me. It is a tale for another day how she used deceit to gain control over that account.”

Jasmine responded that she had nothing to say.

“For now, at least, I do not want to get engaged in the internet drama. Daddy’s wellbeing is more important to me,” she remarked.

Jasmine  recommended that our correspondent have a conversation with Daniel Okafor, the son of Mr. Ibu.

She wondered about the number of streams she would get on streaming platforms and television if she ranted on the platforms.

INEC declares Hope Uzodimma winner of yesterday’s Imo governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hope Uzodimma, winner of yesterday’s governorship election.

According to the INEC’s state collation and returning officer, Abayomi Fasina, Hope Uzodimma got 540,308 votes.

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, came second with 71,503 votes.

Senator Athan Achonu of the Labour Party, came third with a total of 64,081 votes.

MTN clears the air today, while announcing there is no debt cancellation for subscribers.

Mobile telecommunication corporation, MTN, has alluded to the recent debt cancellation status on its subscribers’ network as a system error.

The firm explained that an unexpected glitch in its system caused the cancellation of debt owed by its network subscribers, stressing that the debt status still remains same.

Lots of users have been sharing the good news while expressing satisfaction with the debt cancellation, with many believing that MTN deliberately erased their debts.

Actress Helen Paul, better known by her stage name Tatafo, is a Nigerian comedian who has shared her story of overcoming rape and using rejection as a motivation to transform her life.

This was revealed in a post she made on her Instagram page on Friday. She talked about the stigma associated with being born of rape and how it led to her aunts constantly calling her a bastard.

Helen went on to encourage her followers not to let rejection deter them, pointing out that she had gone from being a comedienne to a professor in the US.

Police arrest husband, as mother of ‘mummy be calming down’ boy commits su!c!de

The husband of Mrs. Toluige Olokoobi, the mother of the boy known as “mummy calm down,” was detained, according to the Edo State Police Command, days after it was revealed that she had killed herself.

The woman in the well-known Mummy Calm down video has just committed suicide here in Benin, according to the X user, who claimed to have witnessed the incident on Monday afternoon and tweeted, “

She would not talk to anyone about her issues. She left her husband with three children, one of whom was the well-known Mummy Calm Down boy.

She committed suicide in front of her one-year-old son, according to a local resident who also confirmed her death.

The deceased, she continued, was a medicine distributor, and her husband was a car dealer and a cab driver.

The deceased’s husband has been taken into custody to be questioned, according to BBC Pidgin on Thursday, citing the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor.

“His wife was hanging with a rope around her neck when he got home from the market.

According to Nwabuzor, “he informed the neighbors, who accompanied him to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.”

Her remains were placed at the mortuary, the police spokeswoman continued.

“After this, he will be moved to the State CID for additional investigation. He is still with the police,” the spokesperson said.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, became interested in Olokoobi and her son Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola in 2020 after the boy’s video of him pleading with his mother to “calm down” went viral.

The governor praised the boy’s bravery and poise during their meeting with him and his family.

Plateau K1lling Suspect Arrested by Army

A man named Philip Gokas has been taken into custody by the Nigerian Army on suspicion of killing Alhaji Adamu Gabdo, the Ardo of Panyam, in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

After weeks of manhunting to bring him to justice, Gokas, also known as Jaykimo, was apprehended in Lagos.

This was announced by the Army on its X handle on Wednesday.

The message on Twitter said, “Troops from Operation Safe Haven Tactical Team have apprehended the principal mastermind behind the murder of the deceased Alhaji Adamu Idris Gabdo, the Ardo of Panyam in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The suspect was arrested in the Ogba area of Lagos State, where he was found drinking  at a football viewing centre. 

Gokas is said to have confessed committing the crime and also provided crucial information that will aid in the arrest of his accomplices. 

The Army described the development  as a clear warning to criminals. 

A 29-year-old Nigerian man commits suicide due to his incapacity to repay a business loan.

Terver Orfega, 29, a resident of Benue State, committed suicide after realizing he could not afford to return a business loan.

Until his sudden death, Orfega worked as the manager of the Second Pot restaurant, which is situated along Lobito Crescent in Wuse 2, Abuja.

Rumor has it that he obtained a loan facility to finance his enterprise.

 Unfortunately, after trying in vain to pay back the loan, he succumbed to depression.

After consuming a toxic substance, Orfega was discovered  in his private room at a Garki hotel on October 31, 2023.

Mercy Akwari, one of his friends, revealed that although Orfega had told her he was suffering from depression, she had not given it much thought.

On  November 4, 2023, the deceased was buried in his hometown of Kwande Local Government Area in Benue.

Spider Bite k+lls A Brazilian Singer

Darlyn Morais, a 28 year-old Brazilian Singer died after being bit by a spider at his home in Miranorte in Brazil on the 31st of October. 

He was admitted to a hospital on Sunday after developing an allergy on the spider bite on his face but he died on Monday.

It was also known that his stepdaughter who is 18-year-old was also hospitalized after bitten by same spider but now stable after being hospitalized.

Information had it that Morais body around the bruise began to change on the bruised area on the face after the bite and he began to feel fatigue.

Congratulations everywhere as a pregnant woman got many passengers talking as she gave birth to a bouncing baby girl in a passenger bus on her way to Warri, Delta State.

In a video making round showed the voice of a lady could be heard narrating the events as people gathered to witness the moment nurses assisted with the delivery of a baby inside the passenger bus.

The lady in her statement affirmed that a pregnant woman who was on the bus with them delivered a baby 

In 2022, a Nigerian man by name  Ben Kingsley Nwashala, had rescued a 2-year-old girl who was abandoned at the roadside in Agbani area of Enugu state.

Recently, he shared a heartwarming photo of him and the child.

The child was said to be delivered by a mentally unstable woman who normally stays at a market in Agbani.

In a post shared on his X formerly known as Twitter handle Today, the 8th of November, Nwashala  shared a photo of her in her school uniform as he’s now taking care of the girl. 

He wrote in his page saying “

”I had to leave early from work to attend the school Open Day.

Federal Government opens e-passport offices in Italy, Spain, and three other locations

The Federal Government has inaugurated additional enhanced e-passport facilities at selected Nigerian embassies in Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria, and Switzerland.

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, inaugurated the facilities at the Nigerian Embassy in Rome.

According to the Interior Minister, the federal government is unveiling additional enhanced e-passport facilities at selected Nigerian embassies in Europe.

Labour Congress and Trade Union declares total strike from today.

Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and their Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, yesterday declared an immediate and total strike in Imo State from today over last Wednesday’s attack on NLC President, Joe AJaero, and other labour leaders.

They also agreed to declare a nationwide strike by Tuesday, November 14, if their demands were not met.

In a communique issued, NLC and TUC directed all workers and affiliates to ensure total compliance.

According the communique, all flights into and out of Imo State, fuel supplies, and electricity be stopped immediately as applicable
